Job Title: Senior Program Officer-Care and Treatment (ART) (ACP)

Key functions:
•Coordinating the development and review of policies, plans, strategic, guidelines and standards in care and treatment and monitoring their implementation
•Providing guidance in strategic, business and operational planning and budgeting for care and treatment activities
•Coordinate and providing technical support to a broad portfolio of implementation partners, districts and facilities who provide care and treatment
•Promoting and enhancing collaborating linkages between the local government, non-government organizations and communities
•Coordinating capacity building activities targeting districts, facilities, and other health workers at various levels
•Preparing and submitting periodic performance rports to relevant authorities
•Providing technical support to research initiatives in HIV and AIDS care and treatment
•Monitoring and evaluating of program implementation for performance and quality assurance
Qualifications:
•Must possess a MBChB degree or its equivalent from a recognized university
•Must possess a masters degree in medicine, public health or epidemiology from a recognized university
•Possession of a post graduate qualification in management, project planning and management or the equivalent would be an added advantage
Experience:
•Must have at least 6 years relevant working experience in managing HIV and AIDS programs at national or regional level
Competences:
•Well versed with current national and global policies and practices for HIV and AIDS care and treatment
•Demonstrated leadership and supervision skills, team, networking, excellent communication and writing skills
•Demonstrable knowledge and skills in managing HIV and AIDS
•Familiarity with commonly used computer packages e.g. Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint and internet
