Centenary Bank is the leading Commercial Micro Finance Bank in Uganda serving over 1,300,000 clients (a quarter of the banking population) in 58 branches spread countrywide.
Job Summary:
The Records Officer will implement, organize and maintain the records management system of the bank in line with the records policy and guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Open allocate reference numbers arid maintain an updated register of the files inventory in line with the Banks Records Management policy and best practice.
•Sort, register, classify and file records in line with the Banks Records Management policy and best practice
•Receive and dispatch outgoing mail/correspondences/documents/files as per the Banks Records Management policy and best practice
•Retrieve documents/files, issue and maintain movement of registers in line with the records management policy and best practice
•Conduct file weeding exercises and update the dormant and/or archives section as per existing guidelines, regulations and best
•File correspondences, keep safe custody of records and organize registers in line with the Banks Records Management policy and best practice
•Organize, control and review records management system of the bank in line with the Records Management policy and best practice.
•Establish departmental records, management needs & sensitize Bank staff engaged in records management systems in line with records policy of the Bank.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
•The applicant should hold a Bachelors degree in Librarianship (Records and Archives Management) or Bachelors in Records management
•Post Graduate Diploma or Certificate in Records Management will be an added advantage
•Proficiency in automated records management systems will be an added advantage
•Two years experience in records management in a recognized institution
•Track record in implementing records management systems
•Excellent interpersonal skills, particularly staff relations, oral and written communications
•High-level of integrity and confidentiality
