Job Purpose:
To lead the marketing and public relations function, a core technical activity of UTB.
Responsibilities
• Marketing strategy & Public relations policy development
• Product development
• Market Initiation and growth
• Marketing Information System management
• Product branding
• Partnership and networking
Specific Key Results Areas
• Review, develop and create visibility for the Uganda Tourism Brand
• Develop competitive marketable tourism products
• Develop strategies for international market development
• Undertake market research
• Identify and develop viable key tourism source markets for Uganda
• Undertake promotion, publicity and exhibition campaigns
• Develop, manage and implement client charters
Required Academic Qualifications and Experience
• A Bachelors Degree with Chartered Institute of Marketing. Degree in tourism or related subject is an added advantage
• Minimum 6 years marketing and related management experience in similar position with a successful track record of performance in a reputable organization
• Understanding of international markets
• Have sound product and tourism sector knowledge
• Proficiency in IT skills
