Qualification:
Masters of Science in Laboratory related field.
Experience
Laboratory work experience of THREE years TWO of which should be at Principal Technician level or its equivalent.
Duties:
- Supervise and maintain harmonious working relationships amongst staff under his/her care;
- Generate reports, inventories, orders and budgets;
- Oversee the proper use of work place equipment and facilities;
- Update, review and maintain standard operating procedures for use in the work place;
- Requisition, maintain and account for financial and other resources in the course of duty;
- Initiate and/ or participate in research and consultancy work;
- Prepare and supervise students’ practicals, industrial training, internship and fieldwork;
- Complement academic staff in teaching practicals;
- Establish and maintain guidelines & regulations to ensure quality assurance and control; and, safety in the work place; and
- Induct and mentor support staff in technical skills.
