Job Description:
Tasks and Responsibilities:
•Plan and implement priority research on physico-chemical factors affecting fish stocks,water quality and the environment for each fishery area.
•Provide information on nutriet,contaminant and pollutant (including PCBs)level.
•Provide status reports on the patterns,trends and suitability of water quality for fish stocks.
•Develop and harmoniza standard operating procedures (SOPs)for Physico-chemical and Algal studies.
•Analyse and synthesize information on physical and chemical (Temperature,oxygen,PHetc)Characteristics of the aquatic environment.......
•Map physico-chemical characteristics and pollutant levels that influence habitat characteristics for fish and aquatic biodiversity conservation.
•Design,develop and implement strategies and plans to guide effective application of research results by policy makers and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
•A Master of Science Degree in Natural Science (Biology,Chemistry,physics,Biochemistry)with Minimum of two years experience gained from a dynamic research environment.
•Possession of a postgraduate training in Limnology or environmental studies will be an added advantage.
