Job Description:
Responsibilities
•Leading music during chaplaincy services on Sunday and community worship and other weekly services.
•Weekly communication and cooperation with the Chaplain in planning, development, coordinating, and implementing all services and programs of the chapel.
•Selecting, learning, and developing an artistic interpretation of choral music for all services.
•Compose new songs and teach them to the choir and community and interpret the work of composers for productions.
•Supervise the maintenance and additions to the music library and music equipment.
•Directing the musical portions of the worship services.
•Plan, select and arrange choral music for all choirs in the University
•Search for new music and select music with suitable texts and musically to meet particular topics of the semester theme.
•Arrange music and direct all instrumental soloists, audition and cast instrumentalists.
•Plan and conduct all choir rehearsals, concerts and workshops
•Coordinate and organize outreach choir ministries.
•Direct the recording of performances for storage and distribution.
•Performing the Music Administration role by Sorting and filing all music and maintaining choir rosters.
Qualifications and experience
•Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Music from a recognised institution.
•Should be familiar with the Anglican doctrine, liturgy and its musical tradition
•Must be a dynamic person with strong interpersonal skills and willingness to train people with voices of varied range and ability.
•He should be able to accompany the choir on a variety of instruments and should be able to read and interpret music
•Must be a mature Christian who is able to use music as a ministry to bring souls to Christ.
