Job Title: Principal Human Resource Officer

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The job holder will be participating in the development and implementation of URC's strategic plan, specifically the human resource function;
- He/ she will also be developing and implementing URC's HR policies and procedures;
- Responsible for the human resource planning and staffing with a focus on diversity;
- Interview job applicants, review applications/resumes;
- Evaluate applicant skills and make recommendations regarding applicant's qualifications;
- Prepare and maintain the organizations salary structure, job documentation, and job evaluation systems;
- Work with workforce leaders to resolve internal or external relational issues;
- Take lead of the performance management and appraisal process;
- Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on corporation policies, procedures and documentations;
- Coordinate the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries;
- Design and conduct new employee orientations;
- Recommend, develop and maintain human resource data bases, computer software systems, and manual filing system;
- Help in establishing a workplace environment consistent with the organization's values and mission;
- Ensuring compliance with all legal and statutory requirements for the management of human resources;
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant should possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource management, Organisational and Industrial Psychology, Business Administration (Human Resource specialisation) or equivalent qualification from a higher institution of reputation
- Additional post graduate qualification in a relevant field;
- The applicant must possess at least 5 years experience in human resource management and development in a public or reputable private organization
- Demonstrable Computer literacy skills i.e. Good working Microsoft Office proficiency;
- Good Planning, Organisational and Coordination Skills;
- Employee performance measurement;
- Human Resources Planning and development;
- Good Team Ethic
- Excellent communication skills;
- High degree of Ethics and Integrity;
- Excellent report writing skills;
- Change management and organisational development skills
