About UECCC:
The Uganda Energy Credit Capitalization Company (UECCC) is in place to facilitate investments in Uganda’s high potential renewable energy sector. UECCC’s mandate is to provide a reliable framework tor pooling resources from Government, Investors and Development Partners and to channel the same to viable renewable energy projects. The Company’s main objective is to provide financial, technical and other support for renewable energy infrastructure development in Uganda, with particular focus to enabling private sector participation In this regard; UECCC provides Technical Assistance and new financing options to facilitate private sector led energy projects. Arising out of support from KFW (Kreditanstalt fur Wiederaufbau), UECCC will offer Technical Assistance for Early Stage Renewable Energy Project Development. In addition, under support from the World Bank, UECCC also extends Solar Refinance lo Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs) for on lending to households and commercial enterprises.
Job Summary: The Transaction Execution Officer (TEO) Manager will support the Manager Transaction Execution in packaging credit support transactions as well as providing transaction advisory services to financial Institutions and Project Sponsors engaged in the development Of renewable energy projects. This will include undertaking of detailed technical analyses of the renewable energy and projects to be supported by the Uganda Energy Credit Capitalisation Company (UECCC).
Key Result Areas:
Prepare reports containing an independent assessment of the renewable energy projects including descriptions of the results
Negotiate and Structure credit and or technical support transactions with both financial intermediaries and project sponsors
Prepare Credit and Technical support deals for further review by the Manager Transaction Execution
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Structuring of the Credit and Technical support transactions between UECCC and Participating financial institutions and project developers/ Sponsors;
Performing due diligence and technical analysis of projects to be supported by the UECCC:
Analyze the business plans of Project Developers, with a view to provide focus towards progressing the projects to financial closure;
Take a Pro-active approach to developing a pipeline of projects;
Provide financial Institutions and project sponsors engaged in renewable energy projects with a point of contact at UECCC focused on building strategic relationships;
Ongoing collaboration and liaison with key stakeholders during the entire project development cycle of the rural electrification and / or renewable energy investment projects;
Performing any other duties as may be assigned by the Management
Requirements
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
An (Honors) degree in Electrical Engineering.
A Master’s degree in a Business or Science discipline is an added advantage.
At least 2 years working experience.
Sell Driven Individual.
Good written as well as oral communication skills;
Well-developed interpersonal skills.
Less than 35 years of age.
