Job Title: Project Management Assistant/District Operational Plan Coordinator
Job Description
USAID/Uganda is recruiting a qualified Ugandan to fill the position of Project Management Assistant/District Operational Plan Coordinator.
Duties: The incumbent will work with local government officials and USAID implementing partners in focused geographic areas to promote ownership, transparency, accountability, effectiveness, and complementarity of USAID-funded development programs as part of USAID’s Country Development Cooperation Strategy.
Qualifications/Education/Experience: Completion of a bachelor’s degree in the social sciences (e.g. international studies, business, political science/government) is required; completion of a master’s degree in political science is preferred. At least three years of progressively responsible professional work experience in northern Uganda in the field of development. Work experience should include procurement, event planning, monitoring, reporting, donor coordination, and logistics. Past experience working for a donor agency and working with local governments in northern Uganda is preferred.
Must have good working knowledge of Uganda’s government institutions, local culture and civil society makeup. Knowledgeable of latest reporting procedures, events planning and budgeting processes. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft programs, specifically MS Word, Access and Excel; strong interpersonal skills; ability to prioritize, work independently, on own initiative and under pressure; ability to give direction; detail-oriented; and strong writing skills is required. Must be able to travel within northern Uganda for 50% of the time and have good working knowledge in Acholi language.

Salary Range: Uganda Shillings 46,611,028 to 67,376,773 p.a. inclusive of allowances.
