Job Summary: The Gender and HIV Programme Officer will be responsible for the delivery of the Violence Against Women (VAW) project and to manage all four partners.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensure reporting by the partners and ensure all grants are disbursed including capacity building.
Perform quarterly monitoring visits to partners and field programmes to more so support them on gender sensitive projects.
Write proposals on the prevention of VAW and HIV and AIDS.
Lead HIV AIDS mainstreaming work to achieve more visibility in the projects, programmes and the organizational
Be a member of the Emergency Response Team.
Collaborate with PMs and gender leads in each programme location.
Represent Oxfam in all HIV/ AIDS and VAW advocacy issues at national level and maintain the visibility.
Contribute to the development of Joint Country Strategy (JCAS) programmes and ensure learning amidst each other.


Requirements
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
The ideal candidate should have graduate qualification in Women’s Studies , Gender and Development, Social Sciences or Humanities and at least 3 years experiences in similar position addressing gender equity issues, and a sound understanding of the importance of gender in development programs , campaigns and humanitarian response work are essential as well as demonstrated training and facilitation skills ;
Proven experience working with and managing partner organizations.
You should have a personal commitment to gender equality, and experience in gender work and/or violence against women as well as demonstrate understanding of current national processes towards ending gender-based violence in Uganda and related policies & practices.
Have an interest in skills of building the capacity of your teams and all partner organizations.
