Job purpose:

To manage the implementation of the Epicenter strategy for grassroots community empowerment.




Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensures high quality and timely implementation of catalytic projects under the Epicenter strategy.
• Facilitates the CD with all reporting.
• In collaboration with the CD, plans, coordinates and oversees the implementation of THP methodology of Strategic Planning-in Action (SPIA) through the Epicenter strategy.
• Trains and supervises day to day activities of THP U Officers and Volunteers to ensure that they are committed to THPs vision and Principles and report to the CD on their performance.
• Participate in the preparation of Monthly, Quarterly and annual work plan and budgeting and ensure proper and timely accountability for the project funds.
• Develops and maintains partnerships with other NGOs, CBOs, government agencies and development partners.
• With the M&E Officer, implements THP U’s M&E system, engages in impact assessment of projects, and creates and maintains the data bank for THP U.
• Keeps abreast with the project on the ground; understands the needs and responds to queries for information in a timely manner.
• With the Project Officers and Volunteers, organizes and facilitates local communities to achieve their own self reliance in food security, education, income generation and credit literacy and health through their own priorities and local strategies.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the CD.

Necessary Qualifications and skills:
• A Bachelors degree in Agriculture, and a Masters degree in Humanities, or other related fields
• 5 years + experience in program administration and Developmental work
• Demonstrated commitment to working with rural communities towards empowerment and sustainable development
• Analytical, decision making, management, monitoring and evaluation skills.
• Leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to support, train and encourage team efforts
• Proficiency in current computer applications
• Ability to communicate in English. Knowledge of local languages is an advantage
