Job Title: Senior Program Officer-Safe Male Circumcision (SMC) (ACP)

Key functions:
•Coordinating the development and review of policies, plans, strategies, guidelines and standards in SMC and monitoring their implementation
•Providing guidance in strategic, business and operational planning and budgeting for SMC activities
•Coordinating and providing technical support to a broad portfolio of implementing partners, district and facilities who provide SMC services
•Promoting and enhancing collaborative linkages between local government, non-government organizations and communities
•Preparing and submitting periodic performance reports to relevant authorities
•Providing support to operation research initiatives for SMC
•Preparing and submitting periodic programme performance reports to relevant authorities
•Monitoring and evaluation of program performance and ensure adherence to set policies and standards
Qualification:
•Must possess a MBChB degree or the equivalent from a recognized university
•Must possess a masters degree in medicine or surgery or public or public health or epidemiology from a recognized university would be an added advantage
Experience:
•Must have at least six years relevant working experience in managing HIV and AIDS activities at national or regional level
Competences:
•Well versed with current national and global SMC policies and practices
•Demonstrable knowledge and skills managing HIV and AIDS programs
•Demonstrated leadership and supervision, team work, networking, communication and writing skills
•Familiarity with commonly used computer packages e.g. Microsoft word excel, power point and internet
•Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and understanding of the strategic direction of MoH and of PERFAR programmes
