Job Title: Senior Program Officer-Sexually Transmitted Infections/Key Population (STI/KP)(ACP)

Key functions:
•Participating in the development and review of policies, plans, strategies, guidelines and standards in STIs and monitoring their implementation
•Participating in planning and budgeting for STI control activities at national level
•Providing technical leadership in programming for key populations including generation of the necessary evidence for policy formulation
•Participating in capacity building activities targeting districts, facilities, and other health workers at various levels
•Support the establishment of public private partnerships and collaborative linkages between the local governments, non-government organizations and communities
•Preparing and submitting periodic performance reports to relevant authorities
•Support and participate in STIs research activities
Qualifications:
•Must possess a MBChB degree or its equivalent from a recognized university
•Must possess a masters degree in medicine, public health or epidemiology from a recognized university
•Possession of a post graduate qualification in management, project planning and management or the equivalent would be an added advantage
Experience:
•Must have at least 6 years relevant working experience in managing HIV and AIDS/STI related programmes at national or regional level
•Prior experience in programs for key populations is desirable
Competences:
•Through knowledge and understanding of the national and global strategies in the management of STIs
•Through knowledge and understanding of the dynamics and programming for key populations
•A term player with good interpersonal, networking and communication skills
•Familiarity with commonly used computer packages e.g. Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint and internet
•Demonstrated understanding of the strategic direction of MoH and of PEPFAR prorammes
