Job Description:
Duties:
•Coordinate faculty and MPHL students’ research activities
•Be available to assist with student project proposals and research dissertations and give support to their organization and coordination as needed;
•Assist as appropriate in the teaching in a postgraduate program (MPHL) (in their area of expertise);
•Be responsible as required for the review and implementation of assigned student exams;
•Assist in the compilation, completion and accuracy of student marks including their preparation for submission to Senate;
•Coordinate student affairs such as the overseeing of student benefits including meals and accommodation;
•Participate in addressing any student disciplinary issues;
•Assist in managing academic issues such as production of timetables, receiving feedback from students program and maintaining audio-visual equipment required for the program to function (e.g. laptops, LCD projectors);
•Perform any other official duties (academic or administrative) as may be assigned by the Supervisor or Executive Director of Save the Mothers
Preferred Skills:
Qualifications & experience:
•Educational/Academic requirements: the successful candidate will have at least a Masters degree in any of the following disciplines: Public Health, Clinical Epidemiology or a Master of Medicine (Ob/Gyn) or other closely related disciplines;
•Experience: the successful candidate will have experience in research and teaching (at post secondary school level) as well as managing academic issues at an institute of higher education. He/she will have administrative skills and be people-oriented;
•Leadership: the position requires an individual who has good leadership skills and is able to share a vision with others and mentor and encourage students through their research proposal/implementation and defense.
•Shared faith: the successful candidate will be a committed Christian who adheres to the principles and tenets of Uganda Christian University.
