BANK OF AFRICA - UGANDA Ltd. is seeking applications from qualified persons who are accomplished to take up the position of Head of Finance. The position will be reporting to the Executive Director and will be responsible for the following:
Position Function:
Manage the Bank’s Finance function in accordance with the established professional standards, policies and procedures and give general strategic and operational guidance on all financial matters of the Bank.
Qualifications:
Masters’ Degree in Business
Professional qualifications in Finance or Accounting e.g. ACCA, CFA, CPA (must have)
10 years’ experience in Finance and Accounting; 4 of which should be at senior management level
Solid computer competency in Microsoft Excel Spread-sheets, Word, and PowerPoint, knowledge of accounting packages
Solid grasp and interpretation of industrial and national economic trends
Strong strategic and conceptual skills
Proven Leadership and people management skills
Customer centricity
Solid business acumen and financial skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong decision-making, conflict resolution and problem solving skills
Very strong presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills, French is desirable
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build internal and external networks
Ability to work under pressure, and exercise excellent judgment
Key duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinating the planning and preparation of the bank’s strategic business plan
Oversight of compliance with corporate and country financial reporting practices
Management of periodical reporting to management, holding company and regulators
Managing communications with the bank’s Executive Committee, the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders on financial matters
Oversight of the bank’s financial transaction recording process in line with generally accepted accounting principles
Development, improvement and oversight of revenue and expenditure consistency checks and balances that promote performance management
Management support through cost benefit analyses of investment and financing proposals
Managing relationships with development institution partners
Participation in credit risk and market risk management processes
Provision of tax planning and compliance expertise
Overall development of the Finance function within the institution and adaptation to needs of changing environment with process improvement
Manage, motivate and develop the e-channels team through rigorous performance management, coaching, mentoring and learning interventions to create a team able to deliver the e-channels mission
Any other duties as assigned by the Executive Directors of the bank
