Job Description:
Duties & Responsibilities:
•Lead in designing and/revising curricula and conduct lectures for undergraduate and graduate levels in areas of community health, research methodology, epidemiology and biostatistics and other health related course.
•Together with other senior academic staff members, link up with other institutions in collaborative research and seek research funding for research projects in community health related areas.
•Supervise or assist with supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.
•Participate in organising field sites for placement of both undergraduate and graduate students.
•Provide leadership for the health science department and fill in staff performance appraisal forms as required.
•Contribute to faculty and university –wide committees as requested, and actively follow and promote UCU mission, Values and policies.
•Perform any other official duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Preferred Skills:
Qualifications and Experience:
•Master’s degree in Public Health or related field from a recognized Institute of Higher Education
•Degree in Medicine or any other related field from a recognised institution of Higher Education
•Taught at University for at least three (3) years
•Published at least two new scholarly articles in internationally recognised journals in their area of expertise is an added advantage
•Demonstration of initiative and involvement in development of academic programmes
•Supervised or co-supervised at least one dissertation at post or undergraduate level
•Membership of a professional body
•Should be a committed Mature Christian who subscribes to the instrument of identity of Uganda Christian University.
