Reports to: Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance & Administration)
Directorate: University ICT Services
Purpose of the Job
The Director of University ICT Services (DUIS) will provide leadership in the development and implementation of Uganda Christian University’s ICT strategy. S/h will provide direction to the UIS Directorate by ensuring proper envisioning, planning and coordination, development and guidance on strategy implementation and evaluation and will be responsible for the implementation of ICT strategy that caters for Faculty, operation business processes and student needs.
Duties:
•Provide direction for strategic and yearly planning, development, evaluation and coordination of the ICT resources of the University
•Facilitate communication between faculty, management, vendors and other ICT stakeholders both in the University and externally.
•Overall oversight for ICT infrastructure, information Systems and other ICT support function.
•Responsible for the overall management of various aspects of ICT plans and projects, including Voice, data, imaging and office automation.
•Develop and oversee the implementation of ICT policies.
•Oversee the design, development, implementation and evaluation of systems that support end Users in the optimal use of ICT resources in line with the University ICT Policy
Preferred Skills:
Qualifications and experience
•Must be a person of strong faith and integrity and a committed Christian;
•Should have at least five (5) years experience in a relevant or similar position, at least five (5) of which should be at a Senior Level post;
•Must have ICT project management experience;
•Should have a good Master’s degree in information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering related field from a recognized institute of higher learning;
•Must hold a good degree in information Technology, Computer Science or Engineering related field from a recognized institute of higher learning
•Engineering, Information Technology or Computer Science related professional certifications will be an added advantage.
•Strong team leadership skills and demonstrable knowledge of strategic planning
•Excellent verbal / written communication skills
