Requirements
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

Experience in implementing agro-industry and tourism projects is an added advantage.

Qualifications
Experience in Agriculture and other livelihood practices

Job Description

Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience:

Job Title: Project Facilitator – Community Health Linkages and Advocacy, SCORPES Project (Kamuli)

Job Description

This position reports to the Project Coordinator-SCORPES Project. The overall responsibility of the Project Facilitator for Community Health Linkages and Advocacy is to conduct the day-to-day implementation of project interventions. Specifically, he/she will be responsible for coordination of the community-based health support teams; and implementation of activities that contribute to empowerment of local communities to advocate, demand and utilize improved health services in entire district of Kamuli.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Participate in developing annual project outlines and quarterly and monthly project work-plans and budgeting.

• Manage annual budgets for project activities that will promote community empowerment, advocacy, utilization and social accountability for health rights and availability of improved services.

• Organize and coordinate the selection, capacity building and operations of Community-based health support teams.

• Organize and coordinate community health empowerment activities using appropriate Community Advocacy and Social Accountability Methodologies.

• Organizing awareness raising activities on health rights and health services, including MCH and EMTCT

• Participate in mobilization and sensitization of communities to create demand for MCH and EMTCT services.

• Organize participatory project monitoring and evaluation sessions at community level

• Participate in the collection of data for the SCORPES project operational research

• Compile activity and monthly reports and submit to them to the Project Coordinator

• Ensure that the project resources, assets and documents are well maintained

Qualifications / Skills:

• A degree in Social Science, Social Work, Development Studies or any relevant discipline.

• Training in areas of HIV/AIDS/PMTCT; and Integrated Community Case Management (ICCM) of childhood illnesses is an added advantage.

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience implementing Community-based Child Health projects; or community empowerment and advocacy for health

• Hands-on experience of working in rural settings.

• Practical experience in working with district and community health systems including Village Health Teams (VHT).
